DIRECTORATE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS, MOSHOOD ABIOLA POLYTECHNIC.

08 February, 2025 Dr Kolawole Amos

It is my pleasure to welcome you to this multidimensional portal for the Students’ Union Government of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic; an institution established some four decades ago. My appreciation goes to the Management of the institution ably led by Dr Adeoye Odedeji, for giving us the free hand to guide the students as appropriate. I also appreciate my able lieutenants in persons of Mr segun Odeyemi (the SAO), Dr Babayemi Karunwi (the Guidance Counselor) and other personnel of the Directorate for the team work.

The mandate given to me by the Management is to steadily ensure that the Students Union is brought back fully, coming out of the lull since 2017. It is in this regard that this multidimensional portal is necessary to take care of online SUG elections, electronic payment of Union dues, and publicizing of Union activities.

The Directorate of Students Affairs, headed by the Director, takes care of the welfare of students of the Polytechnic and oversees issues relating to accommodation of students, administration of documentation for the Bursary payment, oversight of student clubs and association affairs, collaboration on academic ceremonies, such as matriculation and graduation. The Student Affairs Office makes attaining a higher education possible, by facilitating the progress of each student and maintaining order on campus.
It also acts as a clearing house for students complaints and concerns, provides guidance and assistance to students in distress. The Directorate also manages community-students relationship through a number of approaches, initiatives and organs.

The Directorate houses two units viz:

  1. The Mobilization Unit
  2. Counseling Unit

The Mobilization Unit.  The unit undertakes the mobilization of  graduating students (full-time HND Students)for the National Youth Service (NYSC).  The approved results, having been compiled by the Examinations and Records office of the Polytechnic, is used by this unit together with other data provided by the graduand, to upload as appropriate on the NYSC portal.
The unit is headed by the Students Affairs Officer (SAO).

The Counseling Unit: The unit provides both emotional and psychological services for the enhancement of the welfare of students and staff in line with the Polytechnic mission.
The Unit is headed by a Guidance Counselor.
